Observation List and Document List Tabs
This guide explains the contents of the Observation List and Document List tabs and how they can be used for data processing.
Below, you will find a detailed explanation of both lists and how to export them from Impact to Excel.
Observation List
The Observation List tab displays all observations based on the selected filters and the chosen fields. You can search observations using the search bar, which scans all column data. The search is an open search (free-text search).
You can customize which columns are shown using the Columns menu:
- Click the Columns button to open the dropdown menu.
- Select which fields you want to be visible by clicking them in the list.
- Fields highlighted in bold are currently selected as columns.
- Close the dropdown by clicking the Columns button again.
You can open observations in a new tab by right-clicking and selecting Open in new tab.
Clicking an observation row opens the task view for that specific observation, allowing you to review and process the task. After closing the task view, you are returned to the Observation List.
You can also open observations in a new tab by right‑clicking and selecting Open in new tab.
For more details about task handling, see the separate task management guide.
You can also export the listing directly to Excel by clicking Export Excel. A more detailed Excel export guide can be found at the end of this document.
Document List
The Document List tab shows all filtered documents and their details. Unlike the Observation List, the columns in the Document List cannot be customized; only default columns are available.
Documents can be searched using the search bar, which scans all column data. The search is an open search (free-text search).
Clicking a document row opens the document view, allowing you to inspect the full content of the selected document. After closing the document, you return to the Document List.
You can also open documents in a new tab by right‑clicking and selecting Open in new tab.
You can export the listing directly to Excel by clicking Export Excel. A more detailed Excel export guide is available at the end of this document.
Exporting the List
From both tabs, you can export the currently visible list to Excel. Follow these steps:
- Apply the desired filters; in the Observation List, also select the columns you want to display.
- Click Export Excel.
- Open the newly downloaded Excel file.
Important notes when exporting to Excel
- If the image column is selected in the Observation List, the export includes the image metadata—but not the actual images.
- There is no maximum number of rows for export, but very large lists may take longer to generate.
