This guide walks through what Imapct alerts are and how to set them up.
Alerts allow you to build customized email notifications for users. The alert contains rule(s). When the rule(s) are triggered, notification will be sent to the selected contacts.
Building alerts
Alerts are built from the Alerts tab under the admin page. You can create a new alert by clicking on the Alert button or by copying an old alert. The settings of the old alert are preserved when copying it to the base of the new alert.
- Start creating a new alarm by pressing the Alert button or copying an existing alarm by clicking Duplicate button.
- Add a name for the alert.
- Add the receivers to the alert via the Add receiver button.
You can select the type of receiver from the following options:
- Email: this option allows you to select the user to whom the alert notification email will be sent.
- Webhook: This option allows you to enter the http address of the webhook services as the recipient, where the alert data will be sent via this server to the desired location.
- Action: this option allows you to select the user to whom the alert will create a subtask when the conditions of the alert are met.
4. Add one or several rules to an alert to determine when the alert is activated. You can also create multiple sets of rules with different numbers of rules for an alert. Below we go through the components of building rules and rulesets.
Building rules and rule groups
The components below allow you to build an alert to your needs.
And/Or button at the top of the rules group
This button allows you to specify must all the rules in the ruleset be met or just one of them for an alert to be triggered. The setting always applies to the levels where a light grey line runs from the button. Within the sub-ruleset, you can build your own rules using the And/Or button.
Ruleset
A ruleset is always the set of individual rules under each Yes/Tai button. You can create additional rules in a rule group via the +Rule button and sub-rulesets via the +ruleset button. You can delete additional rulesets via -Ruleset button and you can delete individual rules from the trashcan image at the end of the row.
Rule line
On the rule line, you can always set one rule for an alert. The parts of the requirement are selected from two drop-down menus on the rule row. First, the desired element must be specified in the first drop-down list. Then, the value for the selected element is specified in the second field. The options in the second field are determined by the selection in the first field.
Alert always when updated setting
This feature automatically triggers an alert if changes are made to a task when the Alert always when updated setting is on. It is recommended to keep this on when the action or webhook is selected as the alert triggered.
